染色作家・浄土紀久子プロフィール

Combination of traditional Japanese Kimono Yuzen and ink-brush painting!
Brand new expressions in Modern Art field!
Unique and modern sense cultivated by working at the front edge of fashion world!
“kikuko Dyeing Art” was born as a quite original and up-to-date dyeing method. She uses various and delicate colors, which no one can create by ready-made prints, and fix them on fabric using steam heat. It combined traditional Usen-dyeing, ink-brush painting, and new expressions of modern art as well as her up-to date sense born from her carrier on the front edge of fashion. Kikuko paints different patterns using various colors on both sides of fabric, one by one, all by her handwork; so it is called as “hand paint dyeing on both sides”. Free from conventional shapes and methods, her scarves and dresses show us many ideas to create 3-dimensional effects, such as shrinkage, machine stitches, cut-in and combination of different materials. Her challenge to the creative world will never reach the end.
